I'm in Toronto and I love to dance Ceroc

Do you like dancing? Want something that’s fun, uncomplicated and where you can just turn up without a partner?

If you answered yes, then you’ll love Modern Jive. And if you’ve ever done the popular Ceroc dance before, you’ll love Modern Jive even more. It’s more similar than you think.

I love Ceroc dancing
I love Ceroc dancing because it can be danced in so many different moods and to so many styles of songs. The styles of dancing I like are with masculine swagger, or with elegance and grace, or with fun and energy. It's easier to learn than most other dance forms and when done well the dancers can be one with the best dance songs around.

What, No Ceroc in TO?
I’ve found other people in Toronto who love Ceroc dancing too. We’d love to have Ceroc in Toronto. In fact, we’ve been waiting several years for it. We’ve heard rumours that we will soon have it in Toronto, and I’ll be a happy person when it happens. In fact, I may well have to set up a Franchise, just so we can have the Ceroc magic here in Toronto.

Because a Ceroc franchise costs many thousands to set up, it may take awhile yet. Ceroc is a franchise, so no-one is allowed to call a session “Ceroc” unless they have bought a franchise. That makes them a franchisee. That’s cool, because it helps protects the integrity and standard of Ceroc, which is very important. You know exactly what to expect when you go to a Ceroc evening. And Ceroc is HUGE in England. Also in New Zealand, where I did it for three years. It’s also the best way I know to keep fit and make new friends.

Let’s Build a Core Group of Enthusiastic Dancers
It may be a while yet before we have a Ceroc franchise in Toronto. In the meantime there are people who would love to have a fun evening partner dancing and having a fun evening out. So Andre de Groot has started Modern Jive sessions in Toronto. They run every Monday evening at 8-10 pm in Sheraton Hall at Wycliffe College of The University of Toronto, 5 Hoskin Avenue. I’ve been going for a few weeks now and they are great fun.

Why not join us?
We’d love to have you. And what better beginning for a future Ceroc franchise than a core group of enthusiastic “Modern Jivers?” OK, it’s not quite the same as Ceroc, but it’s pretty close – as you’ll find out if you come along. And when we do eventually have a franchise up and running in Toronto it’ll make it that much easier to build and grow the Ceroc franchise.
